Every Squishy Dumpling size and edition, in one guide

Once the first dumpling arrives in a house, the questions start. Which edition is that one? Is there a bigger one? Which pack has the rare glitter? This is the reference page, straight from the maker, so you can settle the school dinner table debates with authority.

The sizes

Mini.The smallest size, with the same slow rise squish as the big ones. You can buy minis on their own as a 5 pack or 10 pack, and they are also the size behind the doors of the Squishy Dumpling Advent Calendar, 24 of them, one a day through December. The calendar ships in October, pre-order now at £40 against a £50 RRP.

Standard, 10cm. The original size that went viral. Fits in one hand, or one blazer pocket. This is the size in all the 3-packs.

Giant, 17cm. Nearly double the standard, and a genuinely two-handed squish. Same mystery reveal, same slow rise, just a lot more of it. If a household already has standards, the Giant is usually the next request.

The new 28cm dumpling. The biggest dumpling we have ever made, arriving in October. It weighs 5kg, which is roughly the weight of a bowling ball, and the box is 30cm across. This is not a pocket toy. It is a lap toy, a sofa companion, and the reason we expect a lot of very happy unboxing videos this autumn. The editions

Each edition is a family of colours, and within every edition some pulls are rarer than others.

Shimmering Starlight. The shimmer edition, with sparkle particles worked into the dumpling itself. This is the edition with the Galaxy Glitter, the rarest pull in the range. Silver is also less common than the standard colours. If someone at school claims they have a Galaxy Glitter, ask for photographic evidence.

Rainbow. The brightest edition, built around bold solid colours. The cheerful end of the range and a good first dumpling.

Galaxy. Deep space swirls and the darkest colourway we make. The one older kids tend to pick when they think the Rainbow ones look too cute.

How rarity works

The colour inside each steamer is random, sealed at the factory. We do not pick, and neither can you. Rare colours are packed less often, that is all rarity means, and it is what makes trading playground currency. A 3-pack does not guarantee a rare. It gives you three chances. That distinction matters a great deal to an eight year old.

How to know yours is real

Every genuine dumpling has the RMS logo on the sleeve, Crazy Fun branding on the front, and an embossed RMS logo moulded into the base of the steamer. The copies cannot fake the mould. Full guide here: link to the authenticity blog.
