How to spot a real RMS Squishy Dumpling?
When a toy goes viral, the copies arrive within weeks. It happened with fidget spinners, it happened with pop its, and it is happening now with the Squishy Dumpling. Some of the copies look close on a shelf or in an online photo. None of them are the real thing, and since RMS makes the original, we are in a good position to show you exactly what to check.
Four checks. Takes about ten seconds.
1. Find the RMS logo
Every genuine dumpling carries the RMS logo in two places on the packaging: on the back of the sleeve and in the bottom right corner of the front. It is not hidden away in small print. If there is no RMS logo on the pack, it is not one of ours, whatever the listing says.
2. Look for Crazy Fun
Crazy Fun is the RMS range the dumpling belongs to, and the logo runs across the front of the sleeve. A different brand name on the pack means a different product inside it.
3. Turn the steamer over
This is the check the copies cannot fake. Take the dumpling out and flip the steamer basket. The base of a genuine one has the RMS logo embossed into the mould, along with the part number. Copying a printed sleeve is easy. Copying a mould is not. A plain base, a different logo, or no embossing at all tells you everything.
4. Look at the face
The original face is a specific design: big sparkly eyes, pink cheeks, a small smile. The copies never quite get it right. The eyes come out flat, the smile sits wrong, and the whole thing looks slightly off once you have seen the real one side by side.
Why it matters beyond the money
A copy is not just a worse squish. Every real RMS Squishy Dumpling has been through full safety and compliance testing for every market it sells in, which is why the same product sits on shelves at major UK retailers. It is CE and UKCA certified and tested to UK and EU toy safety standards. With a copy, you simply do not know what the material is or whether anyone tested it before it reached your child's hands.
Everything sold at abeectoys.com is the genuine article, because abeec is part of RMS. The same range is on our Amazon and eBay stores too, so wherever you buy from us, the four checks above will all pass.
A quick word on trends
One more thing while we have you. Our dumplings are designed to be squeezed, stretched and enjoyed as sensory toys. Some of the trends and so called hacks going around online involve using them in ways we do not endorse and that could damage the toy or cause injury. Stick to the squish. It is the best part anyway.
